Paradigm is a Canadian company that is part of a large industrial group along with Anthem and Martin Logan. Numerous loudspeaker ranges are in the catalog, all designed using the world’s largest anechoic chamber owned by the group, and manufactured with extensive economy of scale. The Founder series is a step below the top-of-the-line Persona, and features stunning sound relative to its size and price. These 40Bs are the only bookshelf model in the range, are exquisitely finished, and have an unusually shaped cabinet. They adopt many of the technical features aboard the top Persona albeit with less refined materials. They are characterized by a very fast, peremptory, rhythmic sound, with a soundstage that expands far and wide, as if from a much larger speaker. Low frequencies also extend with great control far beyond what would be expected. The setting is Monitor type, so much so that the speaker is also quite popular in the professional arena.
