Mola Mola Kula

Integrated amplifier

Mola Mola is a relatively young company with few products in its catalog, including this integrated Kula. Mola Mola is a large fish also known as a sunfish, whose depiction, with its typical fins, is featured in the trademark, and the soft design of the electronics are also inspired by the sunfish, mimicking its fin surfaces. It was founded by Bruno Putzeys, who has always made digital amplification his banner, also being the father of the famous NCore modules. The name Kula comes from that of a gift exchange ceremony performed in the Trobriand Islands, a central event in the lives of those peoples, as indeed “central” is the role of an amplifier in listening to music. Power of 2x150W on 8ohm and 2x300W on 4ohm obviously in class D with fully balanced circuitry and stages made discrete in “single ended driven differential” configuration. The amplifier is offered with only line inputs, but optional DAC and Phono modules can be added, in common with the Makua preamplifier. It is an absolute top-notch product, in every respect, and can be considered the go-to product for the music lover who wants the best without overcomplicating his or her life, or for the new enthusiast who in addition to quality prefers a truly original, first-class aesthetic.
