BRYSTON Bi-200 Integrated Amplifier

Bryston Bi-200

LA Bryston Ltd. based in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, just northeast of Toronto, has been designing and manufacturing state-of-the-art electronic components for the professional and consumer audio markets for over 35 years. Bryston’s commitment to creating excellent products in both musical and construction aspects is amply demonstrated by the exceptional reliability that results in a 20-year warranty for analog products and a 5-year warranty for digital products. Bryston’s integrated amplifiers are no match for their separate components, and the new Bi-200 is nothing less than the union of the BP-19 preamplifier and the 3B amplifier in a single chassis, offering the best of both without taking up extra space or requiring expensive connecting cables and without sacrificing quality for convenience.

Bi-200 is very versatile, two balanced inputs, 4 unbalanced including an optional MM/MC phono, and pre-outs. Control is possible via RS232 or Ethernet.

The Bi-200 analog integrated amplifier is the result of years of research and development that led to the creation of an optimized discrete amplifier buffer, capable of delivering an incredibly low THD+N distortion value. The analog signal path is fully balanced, made with a set of selected components with minimal tolerances and a compact circuit design to ensure the lowest possible noise and excellent common mode response. With the new balanced inputs and outputs and using the new volume control chips, they were able to achieve significant improvements in performance without using common potentiometers. This new design allows a lower noise floor than previous designs and is much more effective in suppressing noise. Bi-200 comes with the BR-4 remote control that can control all major functions. Available front panels are black and silver, but champagne, white and gun metal colors are available at extra cost.

In keeping with tradition, Bryston pays close attention to the phono section, and for this Bi-200 offers two different options. MM only with a gain of 41 dB at 1 kHz, while the MM/MC version a step-up transformer capable of accepting very low voltages thanks to gain adjustable between 20 dB and 26 dB with internal switches.
