C 3030 & C 3030 S the new amplifiers from NAD

Following the 2023 debut of the 3050 NAD announces two new integrated amplifiers, C 3030 and C 3030 S. They all strongly recall the legendary lines of the 3030 from the late 1970s and differ in the presence of the BluOS streaming part in the S version. Black front panel, analog VU meters, and italicized NAD logo both offer 50W into 4/8 Ω in relatively compact sizes. C 3030 is a modern amplifier, equipped not only with classic analog inputs, (MM phono included) but also with HDMI eARC and optical inputs. The single subwoofer output is equipped with an 80Hz high-pass filter that can be excluded via a switch on the rear panel, where there is also a switch that allows the user to choose whether to have the Vu-Meter indicate the input signal or the output power, a switch that makes more sense taking into account the other Vu-Meter LED, below the volume knob, and classic of NAD products that indicates the output power.

The C 3030 S also features a streamer. Very interesting is the presence of the HDMI eARC input that allows a TV to be connected to the amplifier.

Bluetooth expands the possibilities for everyday use, enabling wireless streaming from mobile devices and computers. C 3030 is amplifier designed to make high fidelity simple and straightforward, without sacrificing the brand’s hallmarks, namely sound quality, up-to-date connectivity and timeless design. A solution that will appeal to both those taking their first steps into the world of Hi-Fi and those looking for an amplifier that is compact but has a strong personality. While the primitive NAD 3030 used class A/B amplification, the current C 3030 uses class D HybridDigital UcD modules with GaN transistors. The C 3030 S adds BluOS streaming with support for 24-bit/192 kHz playback, MQA decoding, and access to more than 20 streaming services.

Vu-Meters can indicate the input signal level or the output power. This choice is also dictated by the fact that there is a classic (for NAD) led vu-meter under the volume knob that indicates the output power.

Price and availability

The C 3030 will soon be available at €999, while for the C 3030 S we will have to wait until spring, it will be priced at €1299
