The two WiiM products (Mini and Pro) that we present in this video confirm our opinion that it has never been possible to access (almost) all the music in the world in excellent quality and at an affordable price for everyone. The Chinese company’s two small DAC/streamers surprised us with their simplicity of setup, stability of operation and a beautifully designed app that allows you to listen to all your digital content from a single point of control. Native compatibility with Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect, Qobuz, Pandora, TuneIn Radio, DLNA and many more, including Amazon Music, ensures a listening experience with potentially endless horizons. Although both WiiMs support Bluetooth streaming, their full potential is only realised via Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet (Pro model only). Multiroom audio is supported via AirPlay 2 and Chromecast Home, and voice control is available via Siri, Google and Alexa. The Wiim Mini and Pro versions share the same DAC chipset, which supports high-resolution audio up to 24 bits and 192 kHz in bit-perfect mode. However, a coaxial digital output is available on both devices, to take advantage of any on-board DAC in your amplifier, or a higher quality standalone external DAC. Finally, the Pro model has recently been certified as a Roon client.
If you have not yet experienced the rich content available from digital audio streaming platforms, we believe that the two WiiM products are the most convenient starting point available today.
